VALLEJO STATION PARKING STRUCTURE / GARAGE PARTIAL CLOSURE TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED TO BEGIN DECEMBER 23, 2015
VALLEJO, CA – Construction activities will tentatively begin at the Vallejo Station Parking Structure on December 23, 2015 to modify the stormwater lines and remove the large water storage tanks currently on Mare Island Way.
This project will separate the stormwater flows from the groundwater and allow the City to discharge the stormwater into the storm drain system as originally intended with approval of the Regional Water Quality Control Board. Rerouting the surface storm water flow will also reduce the risk of flooding of the lower levels in the event of a strong storm coupled with a power outage.
During construction, which is expected to continue through Spring 2016, vehicles will not be able to park on Level P1 or the ramps connecting to that level from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. (overnight hours) Monday through Friday, with some possible weekend closures as well. One lane will be open throughout the level to allow customers to access Level P2 and the Ground Level. Level P1 is the middle level accessible by Mare Island Way.
Signs announcing the closure will be placed around the parking lot and at all entrances before construction activity begins. An announcement of construction will also be posted on the Waterfront Parking webpage, the Vallejo Ferry webpage, and on the City’s Facebook page. With a parking permit, overflow parking will also be available during this time behind City Hall in the three hour parking area.
